Improvement needed but aged care ratings a good first step

THREE out of 14 Bendigo aged care homes have received unsatisfactory ratings in the federal government’s new online aged care star rating system, indicating “improvement [is] needed.” Despite teething problems with the new system, including claims its ratings are out of date, experts say it is a good first step in providing transparency and accountability in the sector.
