Author ‘obsessed with freedom’ created sanctuary to tell most challenging story

Writer, explorer, film maker and cultural commentator Robyn Davidson is “best known for her solo odyssey across the Australian desert with four camels and a dog. That 1977 trip from Alice Springs to the Indian Ocean was documented in the international best seller Tracks. Her memoir Unfinished Woman provides the back-story to Tracks – the family and outback Queensland childhood that shaped Davidson’s bohemian early adult years and “obsession with freedom”. Read more
